Completion Date:

Summary description:
The client’s brief was to create a family home out of a tired 4 storey rental property. To improve natural daylight to the kitchen by extending the space to the side with operable rooflights. The brief also asked for a remodel of the kitchen, provide good storage throughout the property, create a new family bathroom, enlarge the existing garden patio and relandscape the entire rear garden.
The project also includes thermal improvement such as under floor insulation throughout the ground floor, new double-glazed windows and upgrading underfloor heating which was existing throughout of the property.
The extension has been formed from rendered block work and pre-weathered anthra zinc façade and slate roof in combination with high performance aluminium-framed windows, rooflights and doors.
The glazed doors to the kitchen/dining room are sliding folding doors to connect the space to the rear garden.
Internal finishes include oak engineered timber flooring throughout the ground floor, a new encaustic tiled hallway, toilet and cloaks area. In the kitchen there are quartz worktops, bespoke and off-the-shelf hand painted units, a bespoke larder unit lined in oak, a toast and tea station area and a white board wall for the family to scribble on.
